This GPS antenna iPhone 5 is a compatible spare part, designed to replace the current part in your device. It receives the satellite positioning signals used by navigation, mapping and geolocation apps. When the antenna is faulty, the device may take a long time to locate itself, lose the GPS signal outdoors or show an inaccurate position. This type of fault often appears after a fall or exposure to moisture.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean, flat surface, using a suitable tool so you do not damage the connectors and neighbouring ribbon cables. Handle the part with care and avoid any static discharge. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
After fitting, switch the device back on and test positioning outdoors, preferably with a clear view of the sky, for a few minutes. Check that the position stabilises correctly in a navigation app. If in doubt or if the behaviour is abnormal, switch the device off and repeat the checks before using it again.
