Work on a non-conductive surface and touch an earthed metal part to discharge static electricity.
Handle the battery with care: never puncture it, bend it or short-circuit it. If the current battery is swollen, stop using it and do not attempt to remove it. Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables. After fitting, switch the device back on and carry out a few complete charge and discharge cycles so that the system measures the new battery correctly.
