Description
This replacement battery is designed for the CAT B40, a rugged phone whose battery life can decline over time. It replaces the current part when it no longer holds charge, charges poorly, or causes the device to shut down suddenly. It is a compatible part, made by a third party, which lets you repair the phone at a lower cost and get back to everyday use.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and unplug the charger. Work on a clean, dry surface, using a flat plastic tool to open the casing without forcing it. Disconnect the battery before handling any ribbon cables, and avoid contact with metal parts that could cause an electrostatic discharge.
Once the battery is replaced, power the phone back on and carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles so the level indicator stabilises. Then check how well the charge holds and how warm the phone gets during use. A lithium battery must never be punctured or bent, and if it appears swollen, it must no longer be used.
