Description
This compatible battery replaces the worn battery of your iPod Video. It powers the device and keeps it running when it is not plugged into mains power. Over time, a battery loses capacity: the iPod switches off faster, the charge no longer holds, or the device no longer starts. Replacing the worn battery often restores a decent battery life without changing your player.
Before you start, prepare a clean, well-lit workspace, with a small suitable screwdriver and a suction cup or flat tool to open the casing without scratching it. Work on a non-conductive surface and touch an earthed metal part before handling the components, to avoid electrostatic discharge. Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables. Never puncture a lithium battery, do not bend it and do not force it into the casing. If the old battery is swollen, stop using it.
Once the battery is fitted and the casing closed, connect the device and let it charge fully. Then carry out a few complete charge and discharge cycles so the battery settles properly. Check that the iPod starts, that charging works normally and that it stays only moderately warm during use.
