Before fitting, switch off the smartphone completely and unplug the charger. Work on a clean, dry surface, using an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touching an earthed metal surface to limit static electricity. Always disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, and never puncture or bend the lithium cell. A swollen battery must no longer be used.
Once the part is replaced, switch the device back on and carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to allow the battery to adapt. Monitor the temperature while charging and check battery life over several days.
