Description
This compatible battery replaces the worn battery of your Surface Pro 5 (2017). It powers the tablet when it is not plugged into the mains and determines its battery life day to day. If your device switches off suddenly, no longer holds its charge or overheats during use, the battery is often the cause.
This is a third-party part, known as compatible: it is not supplied by Microsoft. Before replacing it, switch the tablet off completely, unplug the charger and work on a flat, clean surface. Discharge the current battery as far as possible without forcing it, and avoid static electricity by earthing yourself.
After fitting, connect the charger and let the tablet complete several full charge and discharge cycles so that the battery calibrates. Then check the charge indicator and the battery life. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery: if the new part or the old battery is swollen, stop using it.
