Description
This compatible battery is designed for the Y21e smartphone. It replaces the current battery when it no longer holds its charge, drains too quickly or no longer starts the device. A worn battery can also cause sudden shutdowns or a phone that overheats while charging. Replacing the battery is often the most useful repair to regain a decent battery life.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and unplug the charger. Work on a clean, dry surface with a tool suited to opening the casing without forcing it. Take the time to locate the ribbon cables and screws, and disconnect the battery before touching any ribbon cable to avoid a short circuit. To limit electrostatic discharge, avoid synthetic clothing and regularly touch an earthed metal surface.
Once reassembly is complete, carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles so the battery can balance itself. Check that the device starts normally, that charging takes place without excessive heat and that the level indicator remains consistent. A lithium battery must never be punctured, bent or exposed to high heat. If it is swollen or deformed, stop using it.
