Description
This compatible battery is designed for the Y31 model. It replaces the current battery when it no longer holds its charge, drains too quickly or no longer starts the device reliably. A worn battery can cause sudden shutdowns, overheating during charging or a battery percentage that drops abruptly.
Before fitting, switch the device off completely and unplug the charger. Prepare a small suitable screwdriver, a suction cup and a tray to keep the screws organised. Work on a clean, flat surface at room temperature and avoid excessive heat. Mind static electricity: touch an earthed metal surface before handling the components.
After replacement, switch the device back on and carry out two or three full charge and discharge cycles so the battery balances. Then check how well it holds charge and whether it heats up. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and handle it with care.
