Description
The Nintendo Switch button is the mechanical part that turns the device on or off or adjusts the volume. When it sticks, stays pressed or no longer responds, the cause is often wear on the button, its ribbon cable or its contact on the board. This compatible part replaces the faulty component without touching the rest of the device.
Before you start, switch the Nintendo Switch off completely and unplug its charger. Work on a clean, flat surface with a suitable opening tool so you do not scratch the chassis. Discharge static electricity by touching an earthed metal part before handling components. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and do not try to open it or bend it.
Once the button is replaced, carefully reassemble the parts, check that the button presses in without resistance and test each key several times. If the device overheats or fails to start, stop and begin reassembly from the beginning.
Tips
- Switch off and unplug the Nintendo Switch before any work
- Work on a clean surface with a suitable opening tool
- Discharge static electricity before touching the components
- Never puncture or bend a lithium battery
- Test each button several times after reassembly
