Description
This test cable lets you check the front camera of an iPhone 8 Plus before or after a repair. It connects between the motherboard and the front camera flex cable, so you can see whether the fault comes from the camera itself or from another component. It is a useful tool for locating a camera fault before replacing any part.
Before you start, switch the device off and disconnect the battery to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface with anti-static tools, and avoid touching the gold contacts. Handle the flex cables with care, without bending them or forcing them when connecting.
Once the cable is connected and the device is powered back on, check that the front camera image displays correctly in the camera app. If the result remains unclear, recheck the connections and test again. As a precaution, never let the battery overheat and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
