Description
The rear depth camera of the Redmi Note 11E is a small module dedicated to measuring the distance between the phone and the subject. It complements the main camera by enabling certain background blur effects, notably in portrait mode. When it is faulty, you often notice poorly managed blur, a portrait mode that no longer works, or a rear camera that displays an error message.
This part is a compatible camera, made by a third party. It allows you to replace the current part at a lower cost, but its behaviour may differ slightly from that of the current part on certain settings. Before starting, switch the device off completely, disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it and work on a clean, clear surface. Avoid static electricity by discharging yourself by touching an earthed metal surface.
After fitting, check that the camera is detected in the settings or in the camera app, then test portrait mode on several subjects. Also check sharpness and that there is no dust under the lens. If the image remains abnormal, recheck the ribbon cable connection before concluding that the part is faulty.
