Description
The rear camera ZMax Pro (2016) (Ref. Z981) is the main photo module on the back of your device. It captures light through its sensor and lens, then sends the image to the processor to produce your photos and videos. When it is faulty, you may notice a blurred, black or distorted image, odd colours, or a camera app that crashes or refuses to open. This part is compatible, made by a third party: it is designed to fit the ZMax Pro (2016) model and is an affordable solution for repairing your device yourself.
Before you start, switch your phone off completely, disconnect the battery if the design allows it, and work on a clean, clear surface. Use an anti-static tool and avoid touching the lens with your fingers. Take time to note the screws and ribbon cables, and photograph each step of the disassembly to make reassembly easier. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
Once the camera is installed, carefully reconnect the connectors, refit the covers and check that it works before closing the device completely. Test photo and video, trying both lenses if your device has several. If the image remains abnormal, check the ribbon cable seating again before any other intervention.
