Description
The front camera is the small module at the top of the screen, used for selfies, video calls and face recognition. This compatible part replaces the current module when it is damaged, cracked or no longer working properly. It restores a sharp image during video conferences and portrait photos.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before working on any ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface with suitable tools, and avoid static discharge by touching an earthed metal surface. Handle the ribbon cable carefully, without bending it or forcing the connectors, and keep heat moderate when removing the screen.
After fitting, check that the front camera activates in the camera app, that the image is sharp and that face recognition works. Also check that the proximity sensor responds correctly, as it sits nearby. If a battery is swollen, do not use it and never puncture it.
