Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies, video calls and face recognition unlocking. This compatible part is designed for the A5 (A520 / 2017) model. It replaces the current part when the image is blurry, black or frozen, or when the front camera no longer starts.
Before you begin, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, to avoid electrostatic discharge damage to the components. Carefully note the orientation of the module and the position of the ribbon cables before removing the old part, and photograph each step to make reassembly easier.
Once the new camera is fitted, switch the device back on and open the camera app to check sharpness, brightness and autofocus. Also test the video call and face unlock. If in doubt, check that the ribbon cable is properly clipped in and that the phone does not overheat.
