Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the HTC Desire 510, lets you replace a faulty front camera: blurry, black or distorted images, or no image at all in photo and video conferencing apps.
Before you start, switch off the phone and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface with a suitable screwdriver, and use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch a metal surface to avoid electrostatic discharge, which can damage components. Never force the ribbon cables and handle them carefully, as they are fragile.
Once the camera is fitted and the ribbon cables are properly connected, switch the device back on and test the camera before fully closing the casing. Check sharpness, exposure and operation in several apps. If the battery is swollen, do not use it, and do not puncture or bend it.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before any work
- Use an anti-static wrist strap to protect the components
- Handle the ribbon cables carefully, without bending or forcing them
- Test the camera before closing the casing
- Never puncture or bend a swollen lithium battery
Fitting
Fitting guide: work with the device switched off, disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, keep the screws in order and test the part before closing up. A question before ordering? Write to us.
