Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This compatible part replaces the existing module of the HTC Desire 600 when it no longer works, shows a blurred, black or distorted image, or is no longer recognised by photo and video conferencing apps.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if the model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use suitable tools to open the casing without forcing it. Remove the current part carefully, taking care not to bend the ribbon cable that connects it to the board. Check that the connector is clean before fitting the new camera.
Once fitting is complete, power the phone back on and test the camera before closing the casing fully: take a photo, start a video call and check the sharpness and colours. If a fault appears, reopen the phone and check the alignment of the ribbon cable.
Tips
- Switch off the phone and disconnect the battery before any work
- Use an anti-static mat to protect the components
- Do not bend the connecting cable when removing the current camera
- Test the camera before closing the casing
- Clean the connector to ensure good contact
Fitting
Fitting guide: work with the device switched off, disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, keep the screws in order and test the part before closing up. A question before ordering? Write to us.
