Description
The front camera is the small module at the top of your smartphone's screen. It is used for video calls, selfies and face recognition when the device supports it. This compatible part is designed for the HTC Desire 816 and allows you to replace a faulty or damaged module.
The most common faults are a blurred or black image from the front camera, abnormal colours, stuttering video or a camera that no longer appears in apps. If the current part shows a crack, traces of moisture or a distorted image, replacement may solve the problem, provided the cause does not lie elsewhere.
Before you start, switch off the device, disconnect the battery where possible and work on a clean surface, protecting yourself against static electricity. Use suitable tools and avoid forcing the ribbon cables. After fitting, test the front camera in several apps and check sharpness, brightness and the correct operation of the neighbouring proximity sensor.
Tips
- Switch off the device and disconnect the battery before any intervention
- Handle the ribbon cables gently to avoid tearing them
- Protect yourself against static electricity before touching the components
- Test the front camera in several apps after fitting
- Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, even slightly
Fitting
Fitting guide: work with the device switched off, disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, keep the screws in order and test the part before closing up. A question before ordering? Write to us.
