Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front module of your Droid Maxx (XT1080, 2013 model). It is used for front-facing photos and video, notably for video calls and selfies. If the image is blurry, black, distorted or if the camera no longer appears in apps, the current part is often the cause.
Before starting, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery where possible, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean surface, with a suitable tool to open the casing without forcing it. Discharge static electricity by touching an earthed metal object, and handle the ribbon cables carefully, without bending them. Avoid any excessive heat source during the repair.
Once the assembly is finished, check that the camera is properly recognised, test front photo and video, then check focus and brightness. Close the casing only after these tests. If the battery is swollen, do not use the phone and do not puncture or bend the battery.
