Description
The front camera is the camera module located on the front of the phone, above the screen. It is used for selfies, video calls and facial recognition when the model supports it. This part, compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, replaces the current module when it no longer works: black or blurred image, distorted photos, camera that won't launch, or a camera app that freezes.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean, flat surface with suitable tools and a dish to store the screws. Avoid excessive heat and handle the ribbon cable carefully so it does not get bent. Remember to protect yourself from static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the components.
Once the assembly is complete, switch the phone back on and open the camera app to test the front camera, first in photo mode then in video mode. Also check the sharpness, the colours and the proper operation of the proximity sensor near the screen. If the result is not what you expect, check that the ribbon cable is properly clicked into place.
