Description
The front camera is the small camera module located at the top of the screen, on the front side. It is used for selfies, video calls and face recognition. A faulty front camera may show up as a blurry, black or frozen image, or as a complete failure to be detected during a video call. This part, compatible with the Samsung Galaxy On5, lets you replace the damaged module without changing the whole phone.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use suitable tools to open the casing without forcing it. Take care with the fragile ribbon cables, which tear easily. When refitting the part, make sure you reconnect the cable properly and position the module correctly before closing the casing.
Once the fitting is complete, switch the phone back on and test the camera before closing the casing for good. Check the sharpness of the image, the operation of the flash if fitted, and the video quality. If the old part showed signs of impact or moisture, also check the condition of the screen and the neighbouring ribbon cable.
