Description
The front camera is the small module at the top of the screen, on the front side, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S5, replaces the faulty module when the image is blurry, black, frozen or missing. It restores a working camera without having to change the whole phone.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat or by regularly touching an earthed metal surface to limit static electricity. Use suitable tools, do not force anything, and note the position of each screw. The ribbon cables are fragile: disconnect them gently, without bending them.
After fitting, check that the camera is recognised in the camera app and during a test video call, before closing the phone completely. If you are also repairing the battery, recharge it through several full cycles for stable use. Never use a swollen battery, do not puncture it and do not bend it.
