Description
The front camera is the small module at the top of the screen, used for selfie photos, video calls and face recognition when that feature is active. This part, compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, lets you replace a faulty module without changing your phone.
Replacement is useful when the image is blurred, black or distorted, when the camera no longer appears in apps, or when the module has been damaged by a knock or by moisture. Before you start, switch the device off completely, unplug the charger and work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible. Prepare suitable tools, a suction cup and a small screwdriver, and note where each screw goes.
When fitting, handle the ribbon cable carefully and avoid bending or twisting it. Disconnect the battery before touching any connectors, and never force a connector. After assembly, check the front camera in the camera app, test the focus and brightness, then make sure the touchscreen responds across its entire surface.
