Description
The front camera is the small module located at the top of the screen, on the front of the phone. It is used for selfies, video calls and unlocking certain apps that use facial recognition. This part, compatible with Galaxy S7, lets you replace a damaged module, especially when the image is blurry, black or distorted, or when the camera no longer appears in apps.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and remove the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an antistatic mat if possible, and use plastic tools to lift the screen without forcing it. Disconnect the ribbon cable from the screen and the motherboard before any handling, and avoid touching the gold contacts with your fingers.
After fitting, check that the camera is properly recognised, then test a photo and a video call, and check the seal if you removed one. If the image remains abnormal, reconnect the ribbon cable before concluding that the part is faulty. Never puncture, bend or expose a lithium battery to excessive heat.
