Description
The front camera is the camera module on the front of the smartphone, above the screen. It is used for selfies, video calls and facial recognition when that option is enabled. This part, compatible with the Galaxy S8, lets you replace the faulty module when the image is blurred, black, distorted or missing, or when the camera no longer opens in apps.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an antistatic mat if possible, and use suitable tools to open the device without forcing it. Handle the ribbon cables with care, as they tear easily. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and stop using any device whose battery is swollen.
After fitting, check the focus, brightness and operation in the camera app and during a video call. Carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to make sure everything works reliably.
