Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front photo module of the GT Master, used for selfies and video calls. It is intended to replace a damaged front camera that may show a blurred, black or distorted image, or no longer activate at all.
Before fitting, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery where the ribbon cable allows it. Work on a clean surface and use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch an earthed metal surface to avoid electrostatic discharge on the components. Keep the screws in a small tray so they do not get mixed up.
After reassembly, switch the device on and open the camera app in selfie mode to test focus, brightness and colours. Check video calls too. If the image remains abnormal, first check that the ribbon cable is properly seated before drawing any conclusion.
Tips
- Switch off the device and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cable
- Protect the components from static electricity during fitting
- Never force the ribbon cable, it tears easily
- Test the front camera and video calls after reassembly
- Do not puncture or bend the lithium battery; if it is swollen, stop using it
