Description
The front camera is the small camera module on the front of the device, used for selfies, video calls and facial recognition. This part compatible with the GT2 model lets you replace a faulty front camera. The most common faults are a blurred, black or distorted image, or a complete absence of image during a video call. A camera that no longer switches on or shows coloured bands may also require this replacement.
Before you begin, switch off the device and disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface with suitable tools, and protect your components against static electricity by avoiding touching the contacts directly. Carefully disconnect the fragile ribbon cables, without forcing them or bending the cables.
After fitting, check that the camera works by testing the front camera and a video call. Also make sure the sensor is firmly secured and the ribbon cable does not move. If the battery is affected by your work, do not puncture or bend it, and never use a swollen battery.
