Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front module of the Honor 8X (2018), the one used for selfies and video calls. It fits in place of the current part, whose image is blurred, dark or missing, or which no longer focuses.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat or by touching a grounded metal surface regularly to limit static electricity. The ribbon cables are fragile: do not bend them and never force the connectors.
Once assembly is finished, check that the screen switches back on, then test the camera before closing the casing: open the camera app, switch to selfie mode and check sharpness, brightness and that focus works properly. If anything seems abnormal, reopen the phone and check the ribbon cable connection.
Tips
- Switch off and disconnect the battery before any work
- Protect the ribbon cable: do not bend it and do not force the connector
- Limit static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap or a grounded surface
- Test the camera before closing the phone
- A swollen battery must no longer be used
