Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front module of the Honor Play 8a (2019), the one used for selfies and video calls. When it is faulty, you often see a blurred, black or distorted image, or no image at all in photo and video conferencing apps. Replacing this module restores a working front camera without changing the phone.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery where the model's guide allows it. Work on a clean surface, with a tool suited to lifting the panels and anti-static tweezers to handle the component. Avoid forcing the ribbon cable and locate its connector before any disassembly. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using any device whose battery is swollen.
Once the part is fitted and the phone is closed again, switch it on and open the camera app in selfie mode. Check the sharpness, the colours and the operation of the screen flash, then test a video call. If the image remains unstable, recheck the ribbon cable connector before any other intervention.
