Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front module of the Honor View 8 (2016), the one used for selfies and video calls. It is fitted in place of the current part when the image is blurred, dark, frozen or missing in the camera app or during a call. This is a compatible part made by a third party, intended to replace the faulty current part.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, in a well-lit place, with a suitable screwdriver and precision tools. Protect the motherboard and ribbon cables from static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. Never force the connectors and handle the ribbon cables with care.
Once fitting is complete, switch the device back on and test the camera before fully closing the casing. Check focus, brightness and operation in several apps, then check the microphone and the screen ringer. If the battery was disconnected, reconnect it carefully.
Tips
- Switch the device off and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables.
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery; if it is swollen, stop using it.
- Work free of static electricity and avoid excessive heat.
- Test the camera before closing the casing to check the fitting.
