Description
This front camera is a compatible part designed to replace the front camera module of the iPad 4 (2012). It is used for video calls, video conferencing and taking photos from the screen. When the front camera stops working, the image stays black or frozen during a call, or the camera app detects no camera. This replacement restores these uses without changing your device.
Before you start, switch off the tablet completely and unplug it. Work on a clean surface, in a well-lit place, and with suitable tools. Protect the components from static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface before handling the part. Do not bend or puncture the lithium battery, and never use a swollen battery.
Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, then check the connections carefully before closing up. Once assembly is finished, switch the device back on and test the camera in a video app. If the battery was disconnected, let it charge normally and carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise everything.
