Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the iPad screen. It is used for video calls, selfies and video conferences. This compatible part replaces the faulty module: if the camera no longer switches on, shows a blurred or black image, or is no longer detected in apps, replacing it often restores normal operation.
Before you start, switch off the tablet completely and disconnect the battery, as the ribbon cables are fragile and working while powered on can damage the board. Work on a clean surface with suitable tools, and avoid electrostatic discharge by regularly touching an earthed metal surface. Do not bend the ribbon cable and do not apply excessive pressure to the connectors.
Once the part is fitted, reconnect the battery and switch the device on. Test the front camera in the photo app and in a video call app, checking sharpness, brightness and that the microphone works properly. If your iPad's battery was removed, let it charge normally through a few full cycles to regain stable battery life.
