Description
This front camera is a compatible spare part for the iPad Mini 1 (2012). It is used to replace the front-facing camera when it no longer works, for example when the image is black, blurred, frozen or missing during video calls and shots taken from the screen side. Replacing this module restores the front camera function without changing the tablet.
Before you start, switch the iPad off completely and disconnect the battery or make sure it is disconnected from the motherboard. Work on a clean surface, with tools suited to small screws, and discharge static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface. The ribbon cables are fragile: disconnect them carefully, without forcing. Never puncture, bend or crush the lithium battery.
After fitting, first check that the camera is recognised by the Camera app, then test the front camera and the touchscreen. If the device overheats abnormally or a battery looks swollen, stop the operation immediately and stop using the device.
