Description
This compatible front camera replaces the camera module on the top edge of the iPad Mini 2 (2013). It is used for video calls, selfies and front-facing photography in apps. When it is faulty, the image may be blurred, black or frozen, or the front camera may no longer be recognised.
Before fitting, switch off the tablet and disconnect the battery if your model allows it, then work on a clean, clear surface. Use a flat plastic tool to separate the parts without forcing them, and avoid touching the ribbon cable with your fingers. Watch out for static electricity: touch an earthed metal surface before handling the components.
Once the part is fitted, check the image in the camera app and during a video call before fully closing the tablet. If the image remains abnormal, open the casing again and check the connector and the fixing of the ribbon cable.
Tips
- Switch off the tablet and disconnect the battery before any work
- Do not puncture or bend the lithium battery
- Do not use the tablet if the battery is swollen
- Handle the ribbon cables with care, without bending or forcing them
- Check the camera before closing the casing
