Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the iPhone 4 screen, next to the speaker. It is used for photos and videos in selfie mode, as well as for video calls such as FaceTime. This compatible part replaces the faulty front camera of your iPhone 4.
If your selfie is blurry, grainy, frozen or black, or if the camera is no longer recognised by apps, the front camera is probably the cause. Before you begin, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible to avoid discharges to the components. Be careful with the thin ribbon cables, which tear easily, and never force the connectors.
Once the assembly is complete, reconnect the battery, switch the device back on and test the camera before fully closing it. Check the focus, the brightness and the proper functioning of FaceTime. If the image remains abnormal, take the assembly apart again to check the connections.
