Description
The front camera, also called the selfie camera, is the small module at the top of the iPhone XS Max screen. It is used for selfies, video calls and face recognition when combined with the other sensors along the top of the screen. This compatible part replaces a damaged module, for example when the image is blurred, dark or frozen, or when the camera is no longer detected by the device.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static wrist strap if possible, as static electricity can damage components. Use non-metallic tools to open the screen and lift it carefully, without bending the ribbon cables.
After fitting, reconnect the battery and check the camera before closing the device for good: photo, video, screen flash and the sensors at the top of the screen. If your phone battery is swollen, do not use it and do not puncture or bend it.
