Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front camera module of the iPod Touch 5, the one used for video calls, selfies and photos taken from the screen. If your image is blurry, dark, frozen or missing, the current part is often the cause, even if the rest of the device works.
Fitting requires precision. Prepare a suitable small screwdriver, a suction cup and a clean, well-lit work surface. Switch off the iPod and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables. Avoid static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface, and never force a connector. Moderate heat is enough to loosen the screen if necessary, without ever overheating the lithium battery.
After reassembly, switch on the device and test the front camera and the screen in several situations. Also check that the screws are tight and that no cable is sticking out. If the battery is swollen or deformed, stop using it.
