Description
This front camera is a compatible spare part for the Huawei Mate 2 (2014). It replaces the front photo module, the one used for selfies and video calls. When it is faulty, the image may be blurred, black, frozen, or the camera app may fail to detect it.
Before you begin, switch the phone off completely and remove the protective case. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, to avoid electrostatic discharge. Take the time to identify the connection ribbon properly and disconnect the battery before any handling. If the battery is swollen, do not attempt to work on it and stop using it.
After fitting, check the camera works before closing the device fully: photo, video, and switching between front and rear cameras. If the image remains abnormal, recheck the connectors and the ribbon cable. In all cases, handle the components gently and avoid excessive heat.
Tips
- Switch off the device and disconnect the battery before any work
- Work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity
- Do not bend the ribbon cable and handle it with care
- Test the camera before reassembling the phone
- Never use a swollen, punctured or bent battery
Fitting
Fitting guide: work with the device switched off, disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, keep the screws in order and test the part before closing up. A question before ordering? Write to us.
