Description
The front camera is the small camera module on the front of the device. It is used for selfies, video calls and taking photos of yourself. This compatible part for the Mate 8 (2015) replaces a faulty module when the image is blurry, black, distorted or missing, or when the camera app closes on launch.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables. Work on a clean, flat surface with an anti-static tool, and avoid forcing the fragile connectors. If you need to remove the glass, warm it lightly with a hairdryer on a moderate setting, and never expose the battery to strong heat. Do not puncture or bend the battery.
After fitting, test the front camera before closing the casing: take a photo, start a test video call and check the sharpness. If the battery is swollen, stop the repair and no longer use the device. Charge the device through a few full cycles to check it works properly before normal use.
