Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, beside the earpiece speaker. It is used for selfies, video calls and facial recognition where these features are supported. This compatible part for the Moto E4 Plus (XT1774, 2017) lets you replace a module that no longer focuses, shows a blurred, black or distorted image, or is no longer detected by photo apps.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, away from static electricity, and use plastic tools to open the chassis so the screen is not scratched. Ribbon cables are fragile: do not bend them and never force their connectors. Do not puncture the battery and do not use a device with a swollen battery.
Once reassembly is complete, check the function before closing everything up: test the front camera in the camera app, start a video call and check sharpness and brightness. If the battery was disconnected, let the phone go through a few full charging cycles for stable operation.
