Description
This front camera is a compatible spare part for the Nexus 5. It sits in the upper part of the screen and is used for photos and videos taken facing the user, as well as for video calls. If your front image is blurry, black, frozen or missing, replacing this module may resolve the fault, provided the problem really comes from the camera itself.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables, to avoid short circuits. Work on a clean, clear surface, ideally with an anti-static mat or a discharge wrist strap, to protect the components from static electricity. Keep the screws in a small tray so they do not get mixed up.
After fitting, check that the camera works before closing the device completely: test the front and rear cameras, autofocus, brightness and video calls. If a swollen, punctured or bent battery appears during the repair, stop using it and do not puncture it.
