Description
This compatible front camera replaces the selfie module of your Nova 5i Pro released in 2019. It is used to take front-facing photos and videos, as well as for video calls and face recognition unlocking when these features are enabled. When the front camera stops responding, the image is blurred or black, or defects appear on the screen, this module is often the cause. Once the current part has been identified, replacing it is a task a careful DIY enthusiast can manage.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use suitable tools to open the device without forcing it. Handle the ribbon cable and the module by their edges, avoiding touching the contacts. Do not bend the connectors and make sure they are fully reinserted.
After fitting, check everything before closing the device completely: test front photo and video, video calls and face unlock. If you need to replace a swollen battery, stop using it and do not puncture or bend it. A lithium battery must always be handled with care, at a moderate temperature.
