Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This compatible part is designed for the Motorola One Hyper (XT2027, 2020). It replaces the current part when the image is blurry, black or distorted, or when the module no longer activates at all.
The repair requires some method. Switch off the phone completely and disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables. Work on a clean surface with suitable tools to open the casing without scratching the glass. Avoid electrostatic discharge by regularly touching an earthed metal surface, and handle the camera by its edges.
After fitting, switch the device back on and check that the front camera opens in the camera app, that the image is sharp and that focus works. Test video calls too. If any fault appears, reopen the device and check the correct connection of the ribbon cable before drawing a conclusion.
Tips
- Switch off and disconnect the battery before dismantling
- Handle the camera by the edges, without touching the sensor
- Check the correct connection of the ribbon cable before closing
- Test photo and video call right after fitting
- Never use a swollen or punctured battery
