Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front module of the HTC One M7, the one used for selfie photos and video calls. You can recognise it by its small lens on the front face, near the screen. If your phone shows a blurred, dark or distorted image on the selfie side, or if the front camera no longer opens at all, this replacement may solve the problem.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean, well-lit surface, with an anti-static mat or a discharge wrist strap to avoid electrostatic discharge. Release the front panel with plastic tools so you do not scratch the screen, and keep the small screws in a separate container.
After fitting, switch the device back on and open the camera app in selfie mode. Test the sharpness, brightness and video call function before fully closing the phone. If the image remains abnormal, check that the ribbon cable is properly clipped in and that the module is correctly positioned.
