Description
The front camera is the small module at the top of the screen, on the front side, used for selfies and video calls. This compatible part is designed for the HTC One M8. It lets you replace a damaged module, for example when the image is blurred, black or distorted, or when the camera no longer appears in apps.
Before you start, switch off the phone and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean, flat surface and use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch an earthed metal surface to limit static electricity. Keep tools and screws in a small container so you don't lose them. Never force the fine connectors and do not bend the ribbon cable.
After fitting, check the camera works before fully closing the casing: test the photo, video and video call in several apps. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture or bend it. Keep heat moderate during the repair and, if you are unsure about a step, stop rather than risk damaging the ribbon cable.
