Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front photo module of the One M8 Mini, used for selfies and video calls. When the front camera stops working, the preview screen stays black, the image is blurry or frozen, or the camera app shows an error. This replacement module restores a working image without replacing the whole phone.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, to avoid electrostatic discharge on the components. Use suitable tools and do not force the fragile connectors, especially the flexible ribbon cables.
After fitting, switch the device back on and open the camera app to check both lenses, focus and brightness. Also test the video call. If the image remains abnormal, check that the ribbon cable is properly connected before concluding that the part is faulty.
Tips
- Switch off the device and disconnect the battery before any work
- Never puncture or bend the lithium battery
- A swollen battery must no longer be used
- Check the ribbon cable and its connector before closing
- Test the front camera and video call after fitting
