Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This compatible OnePlus 5T part lets you replace a damaged module, for example when the image is blurry, black, distorted or missing in photo and video conferencing apps.
The replacement is done by opening the device, disconnecting the relevant ribbon cable and fitting the new module in the same place. Work on a clean, flat surface, using a flat, non-metallic tool to lift the components. Discharge the phone as much as possible, avoid electrostatic discharge by regularly touching an earthed metal surface, and disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cables.
After fitting, check the camera in the photo app, then test both directions of the video call. Also make sure the proximity sensor and face detection remain active. If the casing is swollen or the battery is damaged, do not use the device and do not try to puncture or bend it.
