Description
The front camera is the camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the OnePlus 6, lets you replace the faulty module when the image is blurred, black or distorted, or when the front camera no longer activates.
Before fitting, switch off the phone and disconnect the battery if your skill level allows. Work on a clean surface, away from static electricity, and note where each screw goes. Ribbon cables are fragile: lift them gently, without bending them. For the lithium battery, never pierce it and do not use a swollen or damaged cell.
After replacement, check the camera works before fully closing the device: test the image, the flash if applicable and the focus functions. If the battery was disconnected, let the device charge normally and carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise its operation.
