Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the OnePlus 9, lets you replace a faulty module. It fixes the most common faults: blurred or black image, no video during calls, or a front camera error message in apps.
Before you start, switch the phone off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use suitable tools to open the screen without forcing it. Handle the ribbon cable with care, as it is fragile. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
After fitting, switch the phone back on and test the camera before closing the device for good. Check the image in the camera app, then during a test video call. If the battery was disconnected, carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise it.
