Description
The front camera is the small module that captures your image during video calls, selfies and video conferences. On a OnePlus One, it is usually located at the top of the screen, next to the earpiece speaker. This compatible part lets you replace the faulty module when the image is blurred, black, frozen or missing.
The most common faults are a pixelated image, distorted colours, a camera that no longer activates or an error message when opening the camera app. A knock to the top of the phone or moisture ingress can also be the cause. Before you start, switch the device off, discharge it if possible and work on a clean, flat surface.
Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, and avoid any contact with electronic components to limit the risks linked to static electricity. Once fitting is complete, test the camera in several apps and check focus, brightness and the microphone during a test call.
