Description
The front camera is the small camera module at the top of the screen, used for selfies and video calls. This part, compatible with the OnePlus X, lets you replace the front camera when it no longer works, shows a blurry, dark or distorted image, or is no longer detected by the phone.
Replacement requires precision: open the device, disconnect the ribbon cable that links the module to the rest of the board, then fix the new camera in the same position. Work on a clean, well-lit surface with suitable tools, and avoid touching the lens with your fingers.
Before closing the phone, check that the ribbon cable is properly clipped in and that the module is correctly positioned. Switch the device on and test the camera before refitting the front panel. To limit risks, disconnect the battery before any work on the ribbon cables and handle it with care: do not puncture it, do not bend it, and do not use a swollen battery.
